James is passionate about building inclusive, user-friendly software – drawing on 15 years of experience. He has worked on both large-scale services used by millions and specialised, high-impact tools for power users. Before joining Climate Policy Radar, James led the Guardian's web team, where he delivered impactful features at scale, developed innovative ways for readers to support their mission, and created publishing tools now used across the industry, including at the BBC. Prior to that, he developed research software at the Wellcome Collection, focusing on a search platform that served people working in academia to games development.
